Mikhail Blagosklonny – Making Huge In-roads in Research on Cancer and Aging

Mikhail Blagosklonny is currently working as a professor at Roswell Park Cancer Institute where he offers lessons on oncology. Prior to this role, he worked at New York Medical College where he offered his services as an Associate Professor of Medicine. After his stint at New York medical College, he joined Ordway Research Institute to be a senior scientist before ending up at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in 2009.

His impressive education background stems down to First Pavlov State Medical University of St. Petersburg where he got his M.D. and Ph.D. in cardiology and experimental medicine.

Mikhail Blagosklonny has always been interested in research that focuses on cancer therapies. These therapies have been crucial in ensuring normal cells do not undergo any damage by chemotherapy and radioactive rays, which is the mechanism of aging (biogerontology) in addition to anti-aging treatments. In his research on cancer and anti-aging, Mikhail has come up with a hypothesis on the possible role of TOR on the two mentioned eventualities. His incessant research on the two topics has therefore led to his editorial work on several publications that focus on biology and cancer therapy. Some of his popular works include; Cell death and differentiation, American Journal of Pathology, Autophagy, and International Journal of Cancer.
